  कहानी का शीर्षक: " टॉमी की वफ़ादारी" एक छोटे से गाँव में कमला नाम की एक बूढ़ी औरत रहती थी। उसके पति और बेटे उसे कई साल पहले छोड़कर जा चुके थे। उसका एकमात्र सहारा था उसका पालतू कुत्ता — टॉमी। टॉमी कोई बेशकीमती नस्ल का नहीं था, बस एक सीधा-सादा देसी कुत्ता, जिसे कमला ने बारिश के एक तूफानी दिन झाड़ियों से निकाल कर गोद लिया था।  टॉमी और कमला की जिंदगी एक-दूसरे के इर्द-गिर्द ही घूमती थी। वह कमला के साथ मंदिर जाता, सब्जी लेने जाता और रात में उसके पैरों के पास लेटकर सोता। गाँव के लोग अक्सर कहते, “टॉमी तो बूढ़ी माई का साया है।” समय बीतता गया और कमला की तबीयत बिगड़ने लगी। एक दिन वह अपने घर के आँगन में गिर पड़ी। टॉमी ने कई बार भौंक कर गाँव वालों को बुलाने की कोशिश की, लेकिन सबने सोचा कि कुत्ता यूँ ही भौंक रहा है। टॉमी वापस आया, कमला के पास लेट गया, और पूरी रात वहीं बैठा रहा। अगली सुबह जब दूधवाला आया, तब कमला को बेहोश पाया गया। उसे अस्पताल ले जाया गया, लेकिन डॉक्टरों ने कहा — “बहुत देर हो गई है।” कमला का कुछ ही घंटों में निधन हो गया। कमला की चिता जब श्मशान ले जाई गई, टॉमी पूरे रास्ते ...

  राज्य की नीति के निदेशक तत्वों में महिलाओं के लिये उपबन्ध :- संविधान के भाग 4 में राज्य की नीति के निदेशक तत्वों में महिलाओं एवं बालको के लिये कई विशेष व्यवस्थायें की गयी हैं, यथा- (1) राज्य अपनी नीति का इस प्रकार संचालन करेगा कि पुरूष और स्त्री सभी नागरिकों को समान रूप से जीविका के पर्याप्त साधन प्राप्त करने का अधिकार हो । ( अनुच्छेद 39 (क)) अनुच्छेद 39 में यह उपवन्ध किया गया है कि राज्य विशेषकर निम्न की प्राप्ति हेतु अपनी निदेशित करेगा। (i) यह कि कर्मकारों, पुरूषों तथा स्त्रियों और नाजुक उम्र के बालकों के स्वास्थ्य तथा बल का दुरूपयोग न हो, तथा नागरिक अपनी आयु अथवा बल के लिये अनुपयुक्त व्यवसायों में प्रवेश करने की आर्थिक आवश्यकता से विवश न हो। (ii) यह कि बालकों को स्वस्थ ढंग से एवं आजादी तथा मर्यादित स्थितियों में विकसित होने के अवसर एंव सुविधाएँ दी जायें तथा बाल्यावस्था तथा युवावस्था की नैतिक एवं भौतिक परित्याग से रक्षा की जाये। (2) पुरूषों और स्त्रियों दोनों का समान कार्य के लिये समान वेतन हो (अनुच्छेद 39 (घ))। समान कार्य के लिये समान वेतन :- इसी सन्दर्भ में महिलाओं के लिये ए...
